Walter & Rande's Grand Canyon 2007

2007 Misc

Alcohol

Bill Q did some research about getting kegs for the river:

I've been looking for kegs but haven't been successful. Looks like you'd have to buy your own and get it filled.

Richard at Cork'n Bottle has a good selection of canned beer and boxed wine (as of March 5th)... plus he delivers to Canyon REO.

Connie and I are going to order from Richard and have it delivered so we don't have to shop.

Batteries

I found a BRUNTON Solar BatterySaver Powerpak that looks like it will charge AA batteries for my digital camera. In the fall I bought the only one that they had in the display case at NOMAR in Homer for $50. I haven't tested it out yet.

National Park Pass

Information about the "National Park Pass". From the NPS website: "The National Parks Pass is an annual pass that provides admission to any national park charging an entrance fee. The pass costs $50 and is valid for one full year from first use in a park. Where a per person entrance fee is charged, the National Parks Pass admits the pass owner, spouse, children and parents. "

I'm not sure that a National Parks pass will get you a discount at the Grand Canyon at this point. Your Entrance fees have already been paid, and the NPS policy is "No Refunds". I imagine that part of the policy is to make the job of the rangers at Lee's Ferry easierl, becuase they don't have to deal with entrance fees for the river runners.
